Consists primarily of special orders issued by numerous agencies citing Hively's military assignments. Training certificates were for completion of various Artillery School courses.

Jonas Heil served as a private in the National Guard of Pennsylvania in Captain John F. Schoener's Company C, 7th Regiment; he enrolled on 13 November 1875, and was discharged on 9 May 1876 at Mahanoy City, Pa., for physical disability. Born 1915. Received a B.S. degree from the University of Pittsburgh in electrical engineering, 1936. Served as private and corporal in the Pennsylvania National Guard, 1936-1939. Served as 2nd lieutenant through major in the Organized Reserve Corps (1941-1952) and the Pennsylvania National Guard (1952-1962) specializing in signal and artillery operations.
